In the wake of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's call for Senators Cruz and Hawley to resign, I've been thinking about ways in which the Senators and Members of Congress who were most complicit in pushing President Trump's falsehoods regarding the 2020 election could be sanctioned in meaningful ways. Given that there's no chance in Hell that any of the responsible parties will be resigning their offices, I propose the following alternative.
For their role in aiding the President's unfounded conspiracy theories regarding fraud in the 2020 election, actions which have a direct causal relationship with the Jan 6, 2021 assault upon the U.S. Capitol, the following persons should be blacklisted from the major Sunday morning news programs and late night news programs.
I'm hoping we might be able to get a Twitter campaign going to lobby these shows to implement such a ban. At a minimum, I’d like to see Cruz and Hawley blacklisted since their objections were obviously part of their 2024 presidential runs.
